Job Descriptions, Finance Director

Briefs
Reporting to the CFO, working closely with the CEO and GM, the Finance Director assumes full responsibility for all financial aspects of the company’s business.  This involves analysing financial performance, advising the Senior Management Team on these findings, and implementing recommendations to achieve the most profitable results for the business.
A Finance Director is an outstanding accountant, possessing exceptional commercial acumen and strategic business insight.  As an operational leader, the Finance Director will support the various business divisions, guiding them in planning and managing their departmental budgets.

Outlined below are a number of standard duties that this job role entails.
Strategic Financial Planning:
- Developing and implementing financial strategies to support the company's overall goals.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and planning process
- Collaborating with management to create funding strategies
- Support senior teams to create growth strategies and plans
- Prepare the business plan and gather data from each account team including operating costs.
Financial Operations and Management:
- Control all financial and accountancy matters including month-end reports, management accounts, cash flow management, statutory accounts, compliance, presentation of management information and KPIs
- Implementing and maintaining robust financial systems and controls
- Ensuring accurate revenue recognition in line with IFRS, including management of WIP, pass-through costs, and commission/fee structures essential to advertising operations.
- Overseeing media and production vendor cost control, including PO governance, vendor contract review, and compliance with internal approval processes.
- Overseeing a company’s payroll and bookkeeping system
- Communicate with external auditors during the auditing period, providing evidence and explaining matters to consider where applicable for the audit of the company.
- Coordinating activities with external advisors, including legal, tax, and corporate consultants, to ensure full compliance and operational alignment.
- Responding to the company’s HQ requests and requirements, and liaison with the relevant department in HQ. Providing quarterly financial data onto HQ's consolidated system.
- Ensuring adherence to national and international financial regulations, as well as relevant corporate regulations applicable to the company’s operations.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Preparing and presenting financial reports/annual accounts to the board, investors, and other stakeholders.
- Providing timely responses to the HQ's request in relation to the business as a whole (not only the financial matter)
- Performing financial analysis on the company to predict financial health
- Using financial modelling to simulate potential scenarios
- Developing and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs).
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and motivate the finance team
- Recruiting, training, and developing finance professionals.
- Ensuring efficient workflows within the finance department.
Relationship Management:
- Building and maintaining relationships with lenders, banks, investors, and other financial institutions.
- Working collaboratively with other departments and senior management.
Other Important Duties:
- Advise the CEO/CFO and Senior Management Team on all matters relating to financial performance
- Identifying and managing financial risks.
- Monitoring spending and creating budgets
- Finding ways to reduce costs and increase profits
- Support the business through change and growth periods, coordinating corporate finance, debt, taxation, equity and acquisitions, as appropriate

Required Skills,
The role requires a solid understanding of accounting and business, proficiency in both Italian and English languages (MUST), a skill for questioning processes and implementing improvements, and the ability to effectively multitask.

The Ideal Candidate:
- At least 10 years of finance experience within the advertising or media industry, including experience in a multinational company. (MUST)
- Exceptional commercial acumen and business knowledge
- Outstanding communication skills with people at all levels and an ability to influence
- Pro-active, decisive, adaptable with an ability to manage high levels of pressure
- Fully qualified and highly experienced

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Business Administration, Accounting, or a closely related field is preferred. Advanced qualifications (e.g., master’s degree or professional certifications) will be considered an asset.
